Description
Dhaniakhali is one of the most well known destinations for saree lovers as it has a sizable cluster of traditional master weavers. The original sarees of the region also called Dhonekhali saree quintessentially had a cream cotton base or body with eye catching thin coloured border which could be green, orange or red. These borders were accompanied by stripes above or sometimes pointed serrated lines placed parallel. With time and also changes with pace and choices, it has transformed where various designs have emerged and weavers have adopted wider borders with jacquard patterns. Colours too have changed and women have now a wide range of design and palette to choose from and stand out.
